Rafael Nadal was born in Manacor, Mallorca ( Spain). His parents are Ana Maria Parera and Sebastian Nadal, he has a younger sister, Maria Isabel. Since he was a kid, he practiced all kind of sports, but in the tennis he is just out when he was three years old. His uncle, Toni Nadal, former professional tennis player and he has been coaching him ever since.
At age of eight, Nadal won an under twelve year regional tennis champion ship at a time when he was also a promising football player. When Nadal was twelve, he won the Spanish and European tennis titles in his age group and was playing tennis and football all the time. His father made him to between football and tennis so that his school work world not deteriorate entirely, but he chose tennis.When he was fourteen, the Spanish tennis federation requested that he leave Mallorca and move to Barcelona to continue his tennis progression and training, and finaly he received less financial support from the federation.
Nadal participated in two events on the ITF junior circuit. By the age of seventeen, Nadal was ranked in the world's top 50 players. In 2003, Nadal had won the ATP Newcomer of the year Award.On the year 2008, in Augost 18, Nadal enough the first position in the ATP. He won to Roger Federer.
In 2010, Nadal took part in a video with Shakira in the song "Gypsy".
